MARE/STALLION

I woke up this morning with a need to explain one of the verses...

Solomon describes his love as a mare harnessed to a chariot in Pharoah's army in 1:9. Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots. He had imported them out of Egypt. So he was familiar with the horses of Pharoah's army. What is interesting here is that Pharoah used stallions to pull his chariot's...The picture he is painting here is of a beautiful, vibrant woman who is well noticed by the multitude of men surrounding her. She is a woman to be sought after!

Remember her sensitivity when she said...don't stare at me? She had been weathered by the sun, oppressed by her brothers...sucked dry in other words, but Jesus said he didn't see her that way. Instead, he affirms her beauty.

Isn't that just like Jesus! He looks past the stuff in our lives and robes us in fine linen and scarlet and purple. Then He places a crown of jewels on our head and a ring on our finger and takes us for His own to have and to hold for ever and ever.

Very cool!
