TO AND FRO...

2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

In Job 2, The LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Then Satan answered the LORD and said, "From roaming about (to and fro) on the earth and walking around on it."

You have a roaming enemy (who by the way is a defeated enemy, not a victorious enemy), and you have a running Heavenly Father who is constantly aware of every move you make.

Everything in life is about perspective. I hate to use this rather worn out addage, but the cup is either half full or half empty. I can choose each day to either focus on God, my help, my salvation, my hope, my future, my provider, my healer...or I can look at the crap that happened that day.

You must know, you are reading these ponderings from a woman who just yesterday was in tears about what she didn't have, so don't put me on any pedastal. I am also a woman who, when I read the Word and get before God, realizes just how blessed I really am.

The problem with "the cup is half full or half empty" is that there is the same amount of liquid in the cup no matter how you look at it.

With God, it is different. When we focus on Him, our cup does not remain half full, but fills to the brim and overflows. When we focus on "stuff" and problems and perhaps, the workings of the enemy, that liquid life which was previously in the cup begins to evaporate and we sense a dryness in our lives.

I guess I just don't get too worked up with the whole scenerio about satan coming to the Lord, because, as James says, the Lord is full of mercy and compassion. Have you ever been extended mercy when you've screwed up? It is like fresh flowing water in your life. Have you ever been laddled with compassion during times of sorrow or stress? It is like lifting a 1000 pound weight off your shoulders.
